1965 Mercury Comet Project Car

This second generation Mercury Comet came to us from one of our favorite customers, and it for one of our favorite reasons. The end goal for this car is to be the project car our customer builds with his son. It came to us with quite a bit of rust and rot and still has quite a bit that needs to be addressed. We wanted to take our readers through the restoration process with us and give you progress updates on the car; hopefully even after it has left the shop. We have already got a good amount of repair and restoration done, but there is a lot left to do. When we got it there were several spots on the car that were so bad you could see daylight coming through. Here are some shots of the car in progress..

The floorboards had holes to the floor which have since been patched and repaired to an immaculate state.

Parts of the trunk have been patched though, as you can see, there are several more that are still in need of some TLC.

There are definitely quite a bit of time left to put into this car before it will be up to spec to be a project car, but we can't wait to see what kind of diamond in the rough can be found under the rough shell of this beautiful classic.
