Underground Autosports Racing Sponsorship Program - Tri-State Sports Car Council TSSCC

Underground Autosports is happy to be partners with the Tri-State Sports Car Council (TSSCC). They are one of the top local grassroots clubs to race with. Upholding the same rules and classing structures as the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA), TSSCC is a great place to get into the sport of autocross without having to compete with some of the top guys and gals, or having to drive a great distance to make it to the event. If you're looking to get into autocross with any club please let us help you find the best path for your journey.

----------
"Tri-State Sports Car Council (TSSCC) is one of the premier autocross clubs in the Tri-State area (Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin). They have been active in promoting the sport for nearly 47 years. TSSCC is responsible, in part, for what the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) Solo program has become today. TSSCC hosts eight Championship competition events per season as well as some fun events, learning sessions and social gatherings. Our club strives to create a family atmosphere, so there is fun for everyone.

This is going to be a banner year for all of us, great events with great courses and of course, great competitors.

Once again TSSCC will demonstrate our care and concern for the local Autocross/SOLO enthusiast. Our schedule is put together in a way to avoid most conflicts with other local clubs… we couldn’t get it 100%, but pretty darn close. You should be able to run nearly every week-end if you want to do so."

Underground Autosports Racing Sponsorship Program - Sports Car Club of America (SCCA)

Underground Autosports is directly involved with the SCCA and more specifically the Chicago Region. From participating in the Solo and PDX/HPDE programs to sponsoring the events themselves. We are so passionate about racing because we are racers. Come out to a local event and you will more than likely run into a member of our team, or a vehicle or two we support or even sponsor. Quite a few of our sponsored vehicles are competitive on a national level.

----------
SOLO Overview
Solo is the SCCA brand name for autocross competition. Solo events are driving skill contests that emphasize the driver's ability and the car's handling characteristics. This is accomplished by driving a course that is designated by traffic cones on a low hazard location, such as a parking lot or inactive airstrip. While speeds are no greater than those normally encountered in legal highway driving, the combination of concentration and car feedback creates an adrenaline pumping experience. It is like being in a movie chase scene, only you are holding onto the steering wheel instead of a box of popcorn!

SCCA Solo Compeition
The SCCA annually publishes the Solo Rules to classify a full range of imported and domestic sports cars, sedans, and purpose-built race cars, as well as to layout the basic rules behind Solo competition. The Solo Car Classifications are provided so that you may determine what types of cars are typically competing in Solo, although there is a class for just about any vehicle. The organizers of local events are also allowed enough leeway to add classes to suit their particular requirements.

A Level for Your Interest
Over 1200 Regional - and Divisional-level Solo events are held across the country at local shopping centers, airports, and stadium parking lots -- or wherever competitors can find a large amount of pavement to safely layout their courses. The sport typically attracts ordinary sports and sports-type cars used for daily transportation, as well as heavily modified vehicles used for racing only. Owners of “street” cars usually inflate the tires to higher than normal pressures, remove the hubcaps, empty the interior of loose items, buckle the seat belts, and have a go. A helmet is required for competitors and most events have loaner helmets available. The Tire Rack SCCA Solo National Championship, held annually in Lincoln, Nebraska, is the epitome of Solo competition and camaraderie. Over 1200 drivers travel to Lincoln to create the world's largest autocross competition and party. While over 50 National Class Champions will be crowned in the men's and women's Solo classes, the primary reasons for attending are the dynamics of the event (organization, competition, variety of cars, etc.), and most of all, the friendships formed and renewed at the parties and in the paddock.

The Tire Rack Solo National Tour
The Solo National Tour Road to Lincoln takes "National" on the road to various locations around the country. These events average over 275 drivers from a wide geographical area, with most of the competitors coming from nearby states. They come together to get a taste of the "Nationals" experience of competition and camaraderie as Tour events are presented in a format similar to that found in Lincoln. So whether you plan to attend the Tire Rack SCCA Solo National Championship or just want to take a peak at the action, the Solo National Tour Road to Lincoln is for you!
